「洛中洛外図屏風 完全版」は、「特別展 京都―洛中洛外図と障壁画の美」(2013年10月8日-12月1日 東京国立博物館平成館にて開催) の公式アプリです。東京国立博物館所蔵の「洛中洛外図屏風 舟木本」(重要文化財)について、高精細画像でその描写の細部に迫り、Q&Aで当時の風習、文化、ファッションなどを詳しく紹介していきます。

「洛中洛外図屏風 舟木本」は17世紀・江戸時代初期に、「浮世絵の祖」として知られる岩佐又兵衛によって描かれました。6曲1 双の屏風の中には、「二条城」「京都御所」「三十三間堂」「清水寺」といった今も残る観光名所から、そこに住む公家、武家、僧侶、庶民など、約2800人もの人々が表情豊かに描かれています。

“Inside and Outside Kyoto on Folding Screens (Full Version)” Mobile Device Application

Official Mobile Device App for the exhibition, “Kyoto From Inside and Outside: Scenes on Panels and Folding Screens” (Oct. 8 – Dec. 1, 2013, at Tokyo National Museum, Ueno Park).

This Application features images and information about the artwork “Scenes in and around Kyoto, Funaki version,” a Japanese folding screen designated as an Important Cultural Property. With super high definition images, this App is packed with features and content that will bring to life this historic and treasured screen and will enhance the viewing experience for museum visitors. Features include a zoom function, Q & A about the artwork, and information about the customs, culture, fashions and daily life in 17th century Kyoto, Japan.

About “Scenes in and around Kyoto, Funaki version”:

This master artwork was created by Matabe Iwasa, known as the “Founder of Ukiyo-e prints,” in early Edo era, or 17th century, Japan. This artwork is composed of a pair of six-panel folding screens. Each screen measures 1.6 meters by 3.4 meters. Together, they provide a panoramic view of the ancient Kyoto, in stunning detail. Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Sanjusangendo Temple and Kiyomizu Temple – important cultural sites then and now – are among the many structures and locations richly portrayed. More than 2,800 aristocrats, samurai, geisha, priests, shop-keepers, laborers and other individuals of every description can be seen going about their daily lives in the busy city.

This exhibition showcases the ancient city of Kyoto through panels and folding screens that have been designated as a National Treasure and Japanese Important Cultural Property. The exhibition includes original artworks from Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle rarely available for public viewing. Highlights include high-tech images and videos, including 4K-quality images of the magnificent Ryoanji Temple stone garden through all four seasons, and richly-detailed close-ups of various sections of the dramatic folding screens.
